Boaz
Rogan, DVM
Dr. Rogan was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. After his military
service, he completed his veterinary training at the University of Bologna,
in Italy, gaining his DVM in 1982. He has practiced veterinary medicine
in a number of countries, including Italy, the Netherlands, Israel, and
of course, the United States.
In the mid-1980’s Dr. Rogan came to New York City, where he practiced
in a busy multi-doctor, small-animal practice for several years. He then worked
in various emergency and small-animal practices in upstate New York. In 1992, he purchased
Metuchen Veterinary Hospital and has been the sole owner for the last
16 years.
A life-long animal lover, Dr. Rogan had a large Bernese Mountain dog (Bombadil)*, and has three cats, Lucy, Luna and Ruby,
all strays that managed to wander into the best home they ever dreamed
possible!
Linda
Smolin
Our daytime receptionist since 1983, she is a graduate
of Cook College, with a BS degree in Animal Science. Pictured with
Linda is one of her cats, Shady. Not pictured/camera shy are are two more cats, Autumn and Junior.
Joanne Williamson
Our evening and weekend receptionist, Joanne is a graduate of Harcum College as a Certified Animal Technician. Pictured with Joanne is her beagle mix, Disney.
Lisa Smoyak
Lisa joined our team in 1996 and is our Senior Veterinary Technician as well as our Office Manager. She has a BS from Middlesex County College and is a Registered Veterinary Technician with the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. She has also completed training in Canine Behavior as well as in Canine/Feline Nutrition. In 2008, she became a member of the Middlesex County Animal Rescue Team (C.A.R.T.) Pictured with Lisa are her three dogs, Holly (Chocolate Lab), Sirus (GSHP/Golden mix) and Gibbs (Yellow Lab, held by Dr. Rogan). Not pictured/camera shy are her three kitties; Millie (aka Fat Baby Kitty), Stitch and Lilo. Also not pictured is Homer the ferret (aka Weasel Boy). For his picture, click on our exotics link.
Dorothy Hoffman
Dody rejoined the staff of MVH in 1994 after taking some time off. She is one of our Veterinary Assistants and is active in various rescue groups helping to foster and adopt out misplaced kitties. Pictured with Dody are her own babies – three Collies; Penny, Bailey* and Cindy. Not pictured/camera shy are her numerous kitties.

Rebecca Reynolds
Becky joined our team as a veterinary assistant in 1993. After working closely with animals for 13 years, Becky’s heart finally caved in the spring of 2006 when she adopted one of four kitties that were left to MVH to be hand raised. Piglet, now the second love of her life is pictured with Becky. Becky is also a member of the Middlesex C.A.R.T.
Hope Borwegen
Hope joined our team in August of 2007 as a Veterinary Assistant. After working in financial services for 20 years, Hope realized her true passion was working with animals. She is currently pursuing a certification as a Veterinary Assistant and is also a member of Middlesex C.A.R.T. Pictured with Hope is Melvin, one of her five kitties. Camera shy are Tara, Princess Prissy, Elvira, and the newest member, Eugene.
Wendy Knablin
Wendy joined our team in the spring of 2008 as a Veterinary Assistant. Wendy relocated from South Florida, where she worked at a Specialty Practice for six years. She is currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology at Penn Foster College. Pictured with Wendy are her two dogs, Christmas and Snickers. Not pictured/camera shy are her two kitties, Mr. Dusty and Mao-Mao, and her parakeet, Lily Marlaine. Wendy also has a passionate love of horses and volunteers for the Standard Bred Retirement Foundation in her spare time.
